Prison weekly May 29, 2004

Naso For the week of May 29, 2004 / 9 Sivan 5764 Torah: Bemidbar / Numbers 4:21 - 7:89 Haftarah: Shoftim / Judges 13:2-25 Sometimes It's Up to Us The LORD said to Moses, "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'If a man or woman wants to make a special vow, a vow of separation to the LORD as a Nazirite, he must abstain from wine and other fermented drink and must not drink vinegar made from wine or from other fermented drink. He must not drink grape juice or eat grapes or raisins'" (Bemidbar / Numbers 3:1-3). One of the customs described in the Torah is that of taking a special type of vow, called a Nazirite vow. A vow was a self-imposed promise to God. The Nazirite vow was one of giving oneself to God's service for a particular time. If a person took upon themselves a Nazirite vow, they had to abide by additional restrictions besides those imposed upon the rest of Israelite society. While God's people had to follow certain dietary laws for example, Nazirites were to be even more strict in that they were not to drink fermented drink or eat or drink anything made from grapes. The Nazirites were not the only ones in Israelite society that were to abide by special restrictions. This is also the case with the Levites, the Priests, and the High Priest. The level of each one's calling determined their level of lifestyle restrictions. The main difference between these people and Nazirites was that a person usually became a Nazirite by their own personal choice. It was only after that choice was made that they were under special restrictions. I think there are some things we can learn about biblical spirituality from the concept of the Nazirite vow. First, God gives us room in biblical spirituality for people's own choices as to their level of commitment they give to God. While a discussion on God's minimum level of commitment would be helpful, we should be careful not to create standards of spirituality that God himself is not expecting from us. Second, we don't have to wait for a personal calling from God before we pursue greater levels of commitment to him. We are free to give ourselves to God in greater and greater ways just because we want to. Third, it is acceptable to intensively give ourselves to God's service for a particular period of time. There may be times in our lives where we feel we need to completely focus on spiritual matters. That doesn't necessarily mean that we will live our entire lives that way. Finally, if we do give ourselves in this special way to God, we must do so on his terms, not our own. Though a person was not obliged to take upon themselves a Nazirite vow, once they did, there were obligations they needed to abide by. We shouldn't think that we are free to relate to God and his service any way that we wish. He welcomes our dedication to him, but reserves the right to determine our conduct. TorahBytes Dreams "Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10). "Follow your dreams" is a very common theme. In movies and in literature we continually encounter characters who discover that there is more to life than the circumstances they find themselves in. Through a variety of means these people move beyond their dismal existences in search of their dreams. I have just finished reading the book, "Dream Giver" by Bruce Wilkenson, the author of the best-seller, "Prayer of Jabez." Wilkensen believes that every human being has a dream – something or some things that they were particularly made for. "Dream Giver" tells the story of Ordinary in the land of Familiar, who upon being visited by the Dream Giver, discovers a dream in his heart and sets out to be a Somebody. After much consideration, Ordinary leaves the comfort zone of Familiar in search of his dream. Through parable and teaching, Wilkensen describes what he believes most people go through as they pursue their dreams. He gives helpful advice based on biblical passages, his own experience, and the experiences of others. But does each and every person on earth actually have a dream given to them by God? Are not truly significant accomplishments reserved for the few special people in the world? Maybe Wilkenson's book is helpful only for those to whom it applies. Would it not be better if we could just learn to be content with our lives, instead of wishing and hoping for great things? To answer this question, we need to start with understanding why we exist. I know that this is a big question, but it need not be complicated. If we accept a biblical view of life, we know that when God created people, he didn't just stick us on earth to exist. He commissioned us to care for his creation. Throughout the Tenach (Old Testament), we read about how God called his people to live lives in contrast to the prevailing cultures of the day. Time and time again he would send prophets to confront the society in which they lived. God was seeking to build a people who would never accept that the way things were was the way they were supposed to be. They were to always live being mindful of God's perspective of the world, learning to become his representatives, who would bring his reality to wherever they lived. When Yeshua the Messiah came, he taught his followers to dream as they were to pray for a world so different from what they knew. "Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10). When Wilkensen writes of each person possessing a dream, he is actually referring to the prompting of God in our lives to participate in his desire to change the world. The dreams that God gives us may not be the kind of movies and books, though of course, they might be. Most of the time they will seem impossible to us and to those who know us. But because God is real, we need not be concerned about our limitations. What we need to do is clarify what God is saying to us. Accepting his call in our lives is the beginning of our realizing our dreams. Truah/TorahBytes Family Parsha Naso 5764 Torah Portion: Naso by Nesanel Safran Honesty is a tricky business. Sometimes things that at first seem honest don't appear quite as clean when we give them a second look. This week's portion (5:6-8) tells us about how God wants us to be honest and avoid stealing of any sort. This even includes the "little" things that people can fool themselves into thinking are all right. The Torah teaches that be a good Jew is to be honest through and through. In our story, a kid struggles with what it really means to be honest. "THE GRASS IS GREENER" It was a scandal. It was the talk of the school. Unfortunately, there had been a break-in at the school store, and the cash register was robbed. A few days later, the police arrested one of the janitors. Not only was he fired, but rumor had it that he would soon be going to jail! Ellen and her friend Rachel were discussing the latest 'news' on the bus ride home from school. "Stealing is just terrible. I would never do anything like that!" declared Ellen, shaking her head. "It's true," agreed Rachel. "Stealing is bad news, but you know what? A lot of times people steal without even realizing it." "What do you mean," laughed Ellen, "they sleep-walk into a bank, pull out a gun, take all the money, and roll back into bed?" "No, silly! What I mean is, that a lot of things people think are okay are really stealing. My mom told me that according to the Torah, even if someone poor takes something from someone very rich, it's called stealing..." "So Robin Hood is out, huh?" "That's right. And not only that, it doesn't matter how little a person takes, even if the other guy will never miss it - stealing is stealing." The bus pulled up to the curb. "Hey, it's my stop," said Ellen, gathering up her stuff. "Gotta run. I hear you, stealing is wrong, and I would never do it. See ya tomorrow." The girl jumped off the bus, swung her bag over her shoulder and headed for home. On the way she passed the 'free-phone.' That's what she and her friends had dubbed the broken pay phone on the corner of their street. It worked without putting in any money. Eventually the phone company would get around to fixing it, but until then, many people used it. Some of the kids Ellen knew even used it to make expensive, overseas calls. That wasn't right. But Ellen just had to phone her cousin across town to remind her to bring the latest CD when she came over later. At home, her sister would surely be glued to the phone as usual, so she decided to make the quick call now. Ellen picked up the handset and began to dial. She had used the 'free-phone' before, but for some reason, this time something didn't feel right. Then she remembered what Rachel had said about stealing. But this couldn't be what she meant. After all, what was a few cents to the multi-billion dollar phone company? She hesitated. "Hey, hurry up," said a boy waiting to use the phone. Ellen started dialing again. She was just being paranoid, she figured. After all, the phone company expected things like this to happen. This wasn't called stealing ... or was it? She stopped again. By now, a couple more kids had lined up behind her, and looked pretty impatient. 'It would just be a quick, one-minute call - for sure it was okay - the phone company rips you off anyway...' she thought to herself. Then she heard another voice inside her head: 'No - these were all just excuses. Rachel was right, stealing is stealing.' She put the handset back down on the hook, and took a breath of relief. "Hey, what's wrong? They fixed the phone or something?" asked a girl behind her in line. Ellen shook her head. "Nope," she smiled. "The phone's still broken, but I'm fixed. Stealing is stealing, and I'm not going to steal." Aish.com MB Updates:Greetings Saints in His Perfect Peace, Praise the Lord! The Saint whom send in $20 a week sent in $35 this week. It was needed. You see we are working on the van and getting the well going for the homeless garden. I had to buy pipe etc. And now I am going to have to reduce the size of the pipe as I think it is pulling too hard or I just do not know what I am doing? My 14 year old son replaced the motor for the window and yes I now have a window that works. We got the air to blow real hard out the back of the van ( air conditioner ) so the people in the back will be real cool, that is if I can find someone to charge the system for me or someone donates the money for the air to be charged..... We had a good service on the Sabbath. I think I got A very good recording on Shavot... I will let you know if it is okay then I will offer it.....The FATHER bless thee and keep thee;
The FATHER make His face shine upon thee,and be gracious unto thee;The FATHER lift up his countenance upon thee,and give thee shalom.(peace)Bemidbar (Numbers) 6:24-26In Yeshua's Name,Bro. Bemidbar For the week of May 22, 2004 / 02 Sivan 5764 Torah: Bemidbar / Numbers 1:1 - 4:20 Haftarah: Hosea 2:1-22 Finding Place The LORD said to Moses and Aaron: "The Israelites are to camp around the Tent of Meeting some distance from it, each man under his standard with the banners of his family" (Bemidbar / Numbers 2:1,2)The people of Israel prior to leaving Egypt were a community of slaves. Within a relatively short time by the word of their God and under the leadership of Moses and Aaron, these former slaves were transformed into an well-organized nation.Though the people numbered approximately two million, their societal structure at that time was not very complicated. Their God-given religion was to be their primary influence in all matters of life. Day-to-day living would be preoccupied with the working of the land and the caring of livestock. The men of a certain age would also be available to serve in the nation's defense forces. Organized by tribe, everyone was allotted a certain portion of land. Property divisions were to last forever. we looked at the Year of Jubilee, where if a person lost possession of his tribal inheritance, it would be returned to his family at the end of a set fifty-year cycle. The tribal organization of Israel was established prior to their entering the Promised Land, while they traveled through the wilderness. As quoted above, the people camped according to their tribal divisions, encircling their place of worship. The precise placement of the people in their tribes illustrates for us how God carefully assigns place and position to people. For the most part, where a person lived was determined by God through the family into which he was born. This is so very different from the self-determined approach to life many of us live. We have been taught to find our own way, to stake out our own territory, and to follow our own dreams. But God has something better for us. While I don't think that we should attempt to copy the structure of ancient Israel, their structure helps us to understand God's perspective on this. God, our creator and Father, has already made a way for us. He has given to each one gifts and talents that are designed to fulfill our purpose for living. Along with these abilities comes the space to use them. Our sphere of service - our territory, so to speak – has been staked out by God. Instead of striving to find our own way in life, God desires that we discover the place he has for us. TorahBytes Don't Miss It! "'Woe to me!' I cried. 'I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.'" (Isaiah 6:5). Very few people have ever had the kind of spiritual experience that the prophet Isaiah had. In the sixth chapter of the book that bears his name, he recounts how he saw a dramatic heavenly vision. It was so real, he doesn't call it a vision or a dream. He simply says that he saw God on his throne worshipped by flying creatures. If you can't relate to this, please don't stop reading. Your personal life experience may be more like this than you think. I don't know if you are someone who has a relationship with God at all. Maybe you do. I know that people relate to God in different ways. I don't know what Isaiah was like before this experience. I don't know what he would have expected. If you saw God, how do you think you would feel and react? Do you think you would be awestruck? Scared? Enraptured? I get the impression that some people believe that if they would ever experience pure, true worship, they would be completely caught up in a celestial experience. But when you worship God, you encounter him. Most of what we call worship is our attempt to touch heaven. Some do it through prayers, others through idols and other symbols, some through songs, some through nature. However it's done, it is only a human attempt at reaching out to God. Isaiah, on the other hand, encountered the real thing. With no effort of his own he was drawn into the throne room of God. He had the privilege of witnessing how worship is done in heaven. But instead of running to join the heavenly creatures and joining in their song, instead of becoming completely transfixed on the sight before him, instead of focusing on the Maker of the Universe, he became very aware of himself: "...I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips." Encountering this level of purity and truth resulted in his seeing himself and his people as they really were.As we read the rest of the chapter, we see how this response resulted in his own preparation for his God-given mission. The personal devastation that he felt was exactly what was needed for him to be all that God intended him to be. You may think that you have never had an experience like this, but maybe you have! The nearer God comes to us, the more we become aware of our impurity and our sins. Perhaps God has sought to reveal himself to you, but you weren't willing to deal with those things in your life. It seems to me that when we seek God, the first person we meet along the way is ourselves. We try to talk to God, when he prefers to talk to us about ourselves. When we worship, we may find ourselves plagued by mundane thoughts. All of sudden we think about the argument we had with our spouse, or how we yelled at our children, or how we cheated someone in business. Those thoughts may not be distractions. They may actually be the voice of God. But we spend so much time fighting him, we never truly encounter him as we could. That's why we never get to the place of purity and usefulness that Isaiah did. God may be speaking to you right now. Truah / TorahBytes Family Parsha Bamidbar 5764 Numbers 1:1-4:20 Torah Portion: Bamidbar by Nesanel Safran This week's portion teaches us about the special role of firstborns in Biblical times. They had certain unique privileges - as well as special obligations. That's the way it is even today; a firstborn, or any kid as he gets older, is going to find that his responsibilities grow side by side with new privileges he receives. It's important to focus on the positive side of this and remember that it's all a normal, healthy part of growing up. In our story, a girl sees how being firstborn has its downs - and ups. "THE GRASS IS GREENER" Did you know that sometimes being first means being last? I looked around, green with envy, at my younger brother and sisters - boy did they have the easy life, just taking it easy and playing around all day while I was stuck slaving away at all my homework and chores. Was it my fault that I was the firstborn? I was still fuming from the phone call I had gotten earlier in the day from my friends Maya and Jen. They were off to the zoo, and wanted me to come along. Actually it wasn't their call that got me mad - I really wanted to go, and was happy they thought to invite me. It's just that when I asked my mom if I could go with them, she reminded me that I hadn't finished my homework (actually I hadn't even started it, but that's besides the point...), and not only that, but that instead of going with my friends, I had to stay in and babysit these little brats all afternoon while my parents went out! "But Mom, it's not fair!" I protested, "Why am I the one who always has to do everything?" I knew already what she was going to say, and sure enough she told me: 'Because I was the oldest." It always came down to this - since I was the firstborn, I was getting stuck working hard while my brother and sisters got away with doing nothing. My mom must have noticed how upset I was, because she put her arm around me and tried to explain. "Paula, I know you have extra responsibilities because you're the oldest, but remember you also have a lot of extra privileges..." "Like what?" I asked. Mom smiled and explained that she and Dad were in a rush to get to their appointment on time, but if I thought about it, she was sure that I would realize that it was true, and we could talk about it more after they got home in the evening. With that, she kissed me goodbye, and they were out the door - and I was stuck, as usual. Well I settled in and tried to make the best of it. I put on my favorite CD and the music was starting to make me feel a little better, when suddenly it stopped. My sister had turned it off. "Hey, what's going on?" I asked. She told me that she wanted to listen to something else."Just wait a minute," I said "You seem to be forgetting the rules around here - that I'm the one who gets to choose what we listen to first." I put my disc back in and thought I heard her grumble something about how she wished that she was the oldest. Why would she possibly want that? I started to dig through the mountain of homework that was waiting on my desk. I typed out my book report on Mom's computer. It was sure a lot easier than writing it out by hand. I noticed three pairs of eyes peeking in from the doorway. I guess the little kids were interested in watching since I was the only one in the family that my parents allowed to use the computer, or even to go into the office when they're not home."It's not fair! I wish I was the oldest instead of her," said my little brother. Hah!!" chimed in the others, shaking their heads.That was a joke. Didn't they know how much of a better deal they had?We ate a quick supper - of course I chose what we were going to eat - when I noticed the hour was getting late. "Okay, bed time!" I declared.But the kids started protesting. "Why do we have to go to bed so early, when you get to stay up as late as you want?" my sister complained."Because I'm the oldest, that's why." Then it dawned on me. Maybe I really did have certain privileges the others didn't. Suddenly having to babysit once in a while didn't seem quite as unfair.I finally got everyone to sleep when I heard the door open. My parents walked in, and my mom sat down next to me on the sofa and looked ready to have a heart-to-heart talk. "Now Paula, about what we were saying before I had to go...""It's okay Mom," I smiled. "I think I understand what you mean. Being oldest works both ways, right?"She seemed happily surprised that I was okay with it. I guess she expected me to still be on my usual warpath about having to babysit. But I just figured it was all part of the firstborn deal. You know, maybe part of being older is that you start to understand a few new things about life, too. Aish.com MB UPDATES: Greetings Saints in His Perfect Peace, Last night the power went out due to a thunderstorm. It happened as mom was on the way out the door to Work. She work's third shift. It took a few hurried moments to get the flashlight and then light the lamp. Goodbyes were said as my children and I settled in for the wait of the electric to come back. In my Spirit I feel one day the lights will not come back on. The children minus my 14 year old whom stayed in Marion, got out the UNO cards and were happy. my point is while we are ready for this kind of thing to happen just how many are not? Darkness is coming and not only lack of light to read but lack of human light. Darkens of the most evil is already here cloaked in politically correct. But it's here. People just need ask the Father to lift the veil from their heart and eyes. The Church for the most part is silent as the evil runs on. In The UK people are talking about stopping Church on Sundays as it interferes with their family time and play time. The church there is really considering doing more during the week to accommodate. No I cry not about Sunday but it works the same for the Bible Sabbath. My point is saints you do not realize just how the darkness is falling. You here of more and more UFO reports as now they are common place. With consulting your Bibles. The Fallen Angels will return with Satan that ol' Devil before the return of Messiah....Many just do not get that many are right here. Another group of Alien tell us that this is also the date of the enlightenment before a 1000 year time of peace on earth...Wonder where that comes from......( Rev. 20 ) 2011 was given a man as a Date that the grays ( Alien ) wanted to wipe the earth clean of man kind...to those whom believe in a 7 year tribulation period that would bring us to the start this year! Or has it already started? Israel belief's they are in the time of "Jacob's Trouble" Already! To Americans we go on with our life's oblivious to what is really going on. We are on fast track to total all out war in the Middle east. So many speak against Israel but is pre-ordained to what is going on. Can you not read your own Bibles or are you of the replacement theology group! The church has not replaced Israel in fact most of the world does not even realize that the Word Church in the Bible means " Called out group of Believers'" This is Body of Messiah we were grafted into not replaced. Man will be grafted back in again. The Love of so many has waxed cold. They are not doers of the word but play at being of God. Soon they will be tested as the whole world will be. God is not mocked you will reap what you sow. So many store up riches not realizing that in one hour their worldly riches will be taken from them and the only things they will be able to stand on is the things sown in the spirit.....have you sown. make sure you tune in with us this week on the radio and the net as we go further exposing the darkness coming and just what the Fallen angels plan for us. Much is being revealed if you can take the time to listen in one hour of your week. Pray about supporting the radio, live net time. It's $190 for 4 weeks. Please pray over that. Tapes are available... Tuesday at the Mission we fed 6 dozen egg sandwiches and 43 plates of beef and noodles with peas and carrots, and bread and butter. Many donuts were given out along with clothing of all sorts. yes we can use your old clothing. Prayers were given for lung problems and cancer as well as other things. One day the rest of the USA could just be like these we help... The Food account needs donations as it is almost empty. I would like to place a food order at this time and praying for $200 to do so...My goal for the food account to stock at this time is $400...pray about it. The van window still has not been fixed and I am having a very hard time with the heat, but if I have to change clothing twice a day it will not stop me from doing the work the Father has led me and our family and Messiah's Branch to do. Yes I thought I had a saint working on getting a computer or laptop for the Mission. This is still a great need. Send your old clothing... We even have coats ready for next year in part..... Right now we need gas very badly with soaring gas prices. The FATHER bless thee and keep thee; The FATHER make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee; The FATHER lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee shalom. The Shavuot holiday begins Tuesday evening, May 25th, and continues until Thursday evening, May 27th, 2004. (In Israel, it ends Wednesday evening, May 26th.)It is ironic that Shavuot is such a little-known holiday. Because in fact, Shavuot commemorates the single most important event in Jewish history -- the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai.Shavuot is the culmination of the seven-week-long "counting of the Omer" that occurs following Passover. The very name "Shavuot" means "weeks," in recognition of the weeks of anticipation leading up to the Sinai experience. (Since Shavuot occurs 50 days after the first day of Passover, it is sometimes known as "Pentecost," a Greek word meaning "the holiday of 50 days.")3,300 years ago, after leaving Egypt on the night of Passover, the Jews traveled into the Sinai desert. There, the entire Jewish nation -- 3 million men, women and children -- directly experienced divine revelation:God spoke to you from the midst of the fire; you were hearing the sound of words, but you were not seeing a form, only a sound. He told you of His covenant, instructing you to keep the Ten Commandments, and He inscribed them on two stone tablets. (Deut. 4:12-13)The giving of the Torah was an event of awesome proportions that indelibly stamped the Jewish nation with a unique character, faith and destiny. And in the 3,300 years since this event, Torah ideals - monotheism, justice, responsibility -- have become the moral basis for Western civilization.Perhaps the reason for the relative obscurity of Shavuot is because this holiday has no obvious "symbols" of the day -- i.e. no Shofar, no Sukkah, no Chanukah Menorah.On Shavuot, there are no symbols to distract us from the central focus of Jewish life: the Torah. So how do we commemorate Shavuot? It is a widespread custom to stay up the entire night learning Torah. And since Torah is the way to self-perfection, the Shavuot night learning is called Tikkun Leil Shavuot, which means "an act of self-perfection on the night of Shavuot."At synagogue services on Shavuot morning, we read the Biblical book of Ruth. Ruth was a non-Jewish woman whose love for God and Torah led her to convert to Judaism. The Torah intimates that the souls of eventual converts were also present at Sinai, as it says: "I am making [the covenant] both with those here today before the Lord our God, and also with those not here today." (Deut. 29:13)Ruth has a further connection to Shavuot, in that she became the ancestor of King David, who was born on Shavuot, and died on Shavuot. On Shavuot, it is customary to decorate the synagogue with branches and flowers. This is because Mount Sinai blossomed with flowers on the day the Torah was given. The Bible also associates Shavuot with the harvest of wheat and fruits, and marks the bringing of the first fruits to the Holy Temple as an expression of thanksgiving. Be-Har and Be-Hukkotai For the week of May 15, 2004 / 24 Iyar 5764 Torah: Vayikra / Leviticus 25:1 - 27:34 Haftarah: Jeremiah 16:19 - 17:14 Thriving in Hard Times But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit (Jeremiah 17:7,8). Jeremiah provides us with a beautiful illustration of the results of trusting in God. Those familiar with the Scriptures would immediately see the parallel between this passage and the first Psalm. Both passages speak of a tree planted by water, but Jeremiah's illustration includes a thought not found in the Psalm: It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit (Jeremiah 17:8). The Psalm speaks of a healthy tree bearing fruit in season. This is a good thing. Bearing fruit out of season could be a problem. But Jeremiah's tree bears fruit in drought. It is able to do so because of the depth of its roots. The threat of drought is not an issue to this tree, because it is not dependant on the normal supply of rain other trees depend on. Not only does this tree survive drought, which may seem good enough, it actually bears fruit in harsh times. While other trees are dying, this one not only survives, but thrives. It doesn't just stand, but it gives life to others. This is what a person who trusts in God is like. Whatever hardships may come, a person who trusts in God benefits others. It is in difficult circumstances that we see what we have been depending on, whether it be ourselves, others, or God. When the heat is on, it becomes evident where we have been sending our roots. This picture of a tree helps us to see that the trust being referred to here is something lived out over time. Many plants can be planted and harvested within one season, but a tree takes years to grow and bear fruit. Some reduce faith in God into some quick little decision made in a time of crisis as if that alone ensures salvation. That is not to say that faith cannot begin with such a decision. We all need to start somewhere. But becoming someone who will bless others in times of difficulty is something that is developed over years of trusting God in all sorts of circumstances. At first we may not possess this kind of confidence. Each time we face a difficulty, we choose between putting our trust in God or in other things. As we trust God and find him faithful, we are more ready to face the next challenge. But if each time life gets tough, we primarily look to ourselves, others, or other things for help, then when great difficulty comes we will wither. According to Jeremiah this tree doesn't fear the coming heat or the year of drought. Why should it? It rests secure, knowing where its roots go. As we get to know God, putting our confidence in him, we will find a security begin to emerge in ourselves, so that we too can thrive amidst great hardships.Heart Transplant "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh" (Ezekiel 36:26). Last week we looked at our need for spiritual heart surgery . The Bible calls this "circumcision of the heart." The natural state of our hearts requires the cutting away of the hardness that prevents us from being all that God intends us to be. Once we allow God to cut away at our hearts, we will likely discover that our hearts are in a far more desperate state than we thought. When we refer to the heart in this way, we do not mean our physical hearts, of course. When the Bible speaks of the heart it is referring to the core of our beings or the centre of our personalities. The heart is the place of desire; it is where our true values dwell. It is the heart that drives us, consciously and unconsciously. When we get in touch with our hearts, we may be shocked to find out what is really there. Many people think they know their own hearts, but the prophet Jeremiah said that it can't be done: "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" (Jeremiah 17:9). It is through the pressures of life that we begin to see what our hearts are really like. We shouldn't think that difficult circumstances are to blame for our inability to cope with life. Hardships, tragedies, disappointments, and so on cut away at our hearts' protective covers and reveal how truly weak and sinful we are. It is at this point that we might realize that we need much more than just heart surgery. We may need a completely new heart. The people of the ancient world had no idea that physical heart transplants would ever exist. But in our day we have a wonderful illustration of this spiritual need. To think that many people are alive today because their failing hearts were replaced! To receive a physical heart transplant, you need to give up on your original heart. You need to accept that to keep the one you were born with will only lead to your death. The same is true spiritually. The condition of our hearts are such that they will lead us to death. If and only if we allow God to replace our original hearts with a new one of his making can we truly live. The good news is that God is willing to do that for us. That's why he has been cutting away at your heart in these days. He is not trying to destroy you; he is showing you your real need. It's time for a heart transplant. Family Parsha Behar-Bechukotai 5764 Torah Portion: Bechukotai Leviticus 26:3-27:24 by Nesanel Safran Some people think that although it's important to be nice and fair to others, when it comes down to matters having to do with money, the rules somehow change and they are allowed to act unscrupulously. This is clearly not the Torah way. In this week's portion, we are told that we shouldn't act unfairly to one another even when we do business. Rather, we should recognize that this too is part of our relationship with God, and we should always treat people kindly and honestly, maintaining our proper values.In our story, a kid gets a different kind of business education."THE CARD SHARK"I had been involved in some 'big deals' before, but I had never run into a customer as tough as this kid. I made him my offer, and tried to look tough, cold and mean. Anybody who knew me would have laughed out loud at how I, Donny Sharp, Mr. Nice Guy - who was always nice, and friendly to everyone - had suddenly turned into Mr. Tough Guy. But what could I do? Business was business. I thought I was ready for anything, until I met this kid Yaakov.Let me explain what happened. For a lot of kids baseball cards are a fun hobby, but to me, they were my life. So it was only natural that when I heard that a kid in town had an extra 1967 Carl Yazstremski Triple Crown winner card, I knew I had to get it, whatever the price.I called the kid up, his name was Yaakov, and he seemed ready to deal and told me to come over. I packed up some of my most valuable cards to trade with him, jumped on my bike, and got ready for battle.The whole way there I kept psyching myself up, telling myself over and over how I had to leave my usual values and sense of fair play at the door and just be as tough and ruthless as I could once I hit the trading table. After all, when it came down to business or money, it was a jungle where only the strong survived, and if you had to 'stretch' the truth or pull a bit of a 'fast one' once in a while, it was all just part of the game.Yaakov's mom let me in, and led me to her son's room. I saw him thumbing through his baseball cards and mumbling something to himself. He looked up at me and smiled. He actually looked like a pretty nice guy. If I hadn't come to trade cards, I would have certainly smiled back, but as it was, I curled my lips into a snarl.Without waiting for an introduction, I got right down to business. "I hear you've got an extra '67 'Yaz' card, and I'm ready to trade." I took out one of my cards and made him an offer that I knew was too low, but you never know. More than once, I had been able to sucker a kid into giving me their best cards for almost nothing.But this kid didn't say anything. He just kept his eyes down and continued to mumble to himself. I was sure this was just a tough-guy tactic to get me to raise my bid. I could see he also knew the rules, so I upped my offer to something a little more reasonable.Still, no response.I pulled yet another card out of my pocket. This was getting expensive, but I just had to get that card. I was sure the kid would jump at this deal, but he still didn't say a word! I thought I was a tough businessman, but this guy was something else. My heart was beating wildly and I didn't know what to do. I only had one more card I could add to the deal. If I gave it to him, he'd be taking me to the cleaners - and he knew it. But I just had to get that card.Sweating, and trying to maintain what little was left of my dignity, I pulled out the last card and said, "Here - take it or leave it!" and held my breath.Finally, the kid looked up and quit his crazy mumbling. Still smiling - who wouldn't smile after ripping me off like that - he said, "You've got a deal."He handed me his treasure as I threw my cards down on the table, fully expecting him to greedily scoop them up. But what Yaakov did next made no sense at all. He just pushed them all back at me, all the cards except for the very first card I had offered him! Was this some new tactic to get even more out of me?"Hey, what's going on?" I snapped.He looked at me, still smiling, and explained, "When you made me your first offer I decided then to accept it. I knew the offer wasn't great, but I could see you really wanted the card, and after all, I did have two, so why not do you a favor?"Could he be for real? "But if you were willing to make the trade, why didn't you say so?" I asked, bewildered.He laughed. "I'm sorry if I was rude, but I was in the middle of counting up one of my card sets, and if I would have stopped to answer you, I would have lost count and had to start all over. I hoped you'd notice, but you just kept going and offering more and more."Boy did I feel dumb. "But that was my tough luck. You had every right to take advantage of my mistake and keep all the cards. That's business - a jungle where anything goes, isn't it?"Yaakov shook his head. "I disagree. Who said that just because I'm doing business I'm suddenly in a jungle and allowed to act like a wild beast? I learned in the Torah that a person has to be good and fair wherever he is and whatever he's doing. It makes no difference if he's praying or playing. In fact, it teaches us especially to be fair in business, maybe because it's so tempting to lose it there. Since I accepted your first offer in my mind, it wouldn't be fair to take the other cards. So here, enjoy your new card, and maybe we'll do business again someday."I just couldn't stop shaking my head the whole way home. I also hoped we'd do business again some day, but you could bet I'd be doing business differently from then on. I got a valuable new card but even a more valuable new outlook: I never have to put aside my values, and the best deal was a fair deal. Emor For the week of May 8, 2004 / 17 Iyar 5764 Torah: Vayikra / Leviticus 21:1 - 24:23 Haftarah: Ezekiel 44:15-31 Being Different They must be holy to their God and must not profane the name of their God. Because they present the offerings made to the LORD by fire, the food of their God, they are to be holy (Vayikra / Leviticus 21:6). In this week's parasha (Torah portion), we read of special regulations for the cohenim (English: priests) and for the cohen hagadol (English: chief priest). Because of their unique involvement with the holy things of God, they had to abide by stricter rules than what was required of the rest of the people. Even though the whole nation of Israel was called to be different from other nations, the priests were required to be more different, and the chief priest even more different. I have met people who prefer to be different. Some do so because they don't want to give up their personal preferences. Others seek to be different as a reaction to whatever is popular. They don't want to go along with the crowd, just because it is a crowd who is going along with something. Then there are groups and individuals who, out of a desire to follow the biblical call to holiness, have adopted various customs in an attempt to set themselves apart. But clearly most people prefer not to be different. Most of us go along with what is considered as normal or popular. Because most societies today are culturally diverse, we tend to find some group (official or otherwise) with which we feel most comfortable. We may or may not actually regularly interact with that group. Still we are looking to them, so that we would not be considered different. Whatever our personal preferences might be, being different is not an option for those who wish to be in right relationship to God. The regulations given to the priests demonstrate that the closer we are to God, the more different we will become. It is important to realize that being different is not the key to drawing close to God. Behaving different from those around us does not produce healthy spirituality. Healthy spirituality produces lives that are different. The priests did not become priests because they were different. They were different, because they were priests. If you have come to know God, you may find that you are different. You try to be like other people, but you can't. It might be that you have a special call on your life. Like the priests of old, because of your close relationship to God, you find yourself having to live a life so very different from those around you. Whether or not you like being different has nothing to do with it; you just are.TorahByte

Extreme Makeover "The LORD your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live" (Devarim / Deuteronomy 30:6). Reality television attracts a lot of attention today. People seem to enjoy watching the real life happenings of others. One type of reality television show features the complete physical transformation of people's facial and bodily appearances. Through techniques such as plastic surgery and orthodontics people who think of themselves as ugly are remade into the stuff of beauty contests and magazines. These people are willing to undergo complex treatments as millions watch them on television. Neither the dangers of surgery or the embarrassment of being a spectacle prevents them from the hope of becoming the beautiful person they always dreamt of. While the public debates the value of extreme makeovers - both the enduring of it and the use of it as entertainment - the fact is it is something we all need. But not the kind featured on these shows, for they only deal with our external appearance.We need, rather, an extreme makeover that is much deeper. What the Bible calls the circumcision of the heart. Those familiar with circumcision understand how extreme this is. Our hearts are the centre of our wills and desires. The part of us that motivates and drives us. Because of our rebellion and resistance to God and his love, we have developed calloused, hard hearts - ugly hearts. The natural condition of our hearts is cold and insensitive. Because of our ugly hearts, we tend to be self seeking and selfish. God wants to transform our hearts into hearts that are open to him and sensitive to others. When we give ourselves to God's extreme makeover, we will have beautiful hearts - hearts that love, hearts that give - heart that live. One of the byproducts of having a made over heart is a beauty greater than the greatest makeover money can buy. External beauty can never transform who we are on the inside. But once we receive God's makeover, everything about us becomes beautiful. And this beauty will not fade with age. We shouldn't fool ourselves into thinking that this is an easy, painless process. Spiritual heart surgery is one of the most painful things that we can ever endure. Yet the dangers of this procedure are nothing to those who know they desperately need it. Once we catch a glimpse of the beautiful people we can be, we will no longer be able to put up with the ugliness of our hearts. We will gladly submit to God's transforming power.Truah/TorahBytes Family Parsha Emor 5764 Torah Portion: Emor by Nesanel Safran Animals are God's creatures too, and He wants us to make sure to treat them right. This week's portion tells us some of the ways we should be kind to animals, even caring for their feelings by letting a calf stay with its mother after it's born. The Torah is full of guidelines how to be sensitive and caring to every one of God's creatures, whether they fly, swim, walk on two feet or four.In our story, a kid gets a taste of farm living, and learns a lesson in kindness at the same time. "EYE OPENER"It was still dark out when a tug on my arm brought me out of my nice deep sleep. "Good morning Barry, time to wake up!"Time to wake up? Was this some kind of joke or just a bad dream? They say you can take the boy out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the boy, and it's really true. When I made plans to spend spring break with my cousins on my uncle's farm, I thought it would be a good change of scenery and a chance for some fresh air - you know, like a vacation in the country. I had no idea that getting up every day before dawn was going to be part of the deal!Now on my very first morning there, as my cousin Jonnie tried to wake me up, I did what any self-respecting city boy would - I pulled the blanket over my head, and pretended not to hear him.But I guess stubbornness runs in the family, because the kid didn't give up. He playfully tugged on my blanket, and said in a voice way too cheerful for that hour, "C'mon cousin, soon the sun will be out, and the animals are waiting."They may be waiting - but I was sleeping. I held on tight. But my skinny arms were no match for my muscle-bound cousin, who had been spending his time lifting a hoe and a pitchfork while my idea of exercise was carrying home an extra-large pie from the local pizza shop.I saw this was going to be a losing battle. "Okay Jonnie, you win."I pulled myself out of bed, dressed and the two of us went out into the field. I looked around and took a deep breath. I had to admit it was beautiful. I'd seen a few sunsets in my time, but a sunrise was a whole new experience.We started our chores and after a while Jonnie called out, "Okay, breakfast time!"Great! You wouldn't know it, but there's a lot to do to run a farm, and by the time we finished our early morning routine of chopping, carrying, and fixing, I was as hungry as a horse. I could smell my Aunt Becky's homemade blueberry muffins wafting out of the farmhouse kitchen and my mouth began to water.I started heading toward the house, when my cousin called me back. "Hey, where do you think you're going?" he asked."I'm going to eat. Didn't you say it was breakfast time?"My cousin laughed. "Yeah, but I meant it's breakfast time for the animals. We have to throw corn to the chickens and turkeys and bring hay for the cows. Then we can eat."Maybe the kid had gotten too much fresh air or something, because I think he was confused. "Wait a minute, haven't you got things backwards? Aren't we the people around here? Aren't we supposed to be the ones who eat first? I'm starving, and we've been working all morning while the cows have been sleeping. I'm sure Bossy won't mind waiting for us to grab a quick breakfast first."I thought my logic was perfect, but my cousin shook his head. "No way. The Torah teaches we have to be kind to animals. We're not allowed to hunt them for sport, we can't muzzle farm animals when they're working so they can nibble food along the way, and we can't even make two kinds of animals who don't get along with each other work together."That was interesting. I like animals too, and wouldn't want to hurt them, but still, what did that have to do with my breakfast?Jonnie saw my quizzical look and explained. "The Torah even tells us that we have to care so much about our animals, that we have feed them breakfast before we even feed ourselves. They depend on us, you know."Wow, that really was caring! Well, we fed the animals, and maybe I was imagining it, but they really did seem grateful for the breakfast. And you know what? I think even my breakfast tasted better knowing there weren't any hungry cows out there waiting for me to chow down. That early morning I learned a lot about being on a farm, and a lot about being a Jew. You could really say that thanks to Jonnie, my eyes got opened in more ways than one.Aish.com MB Updates: Greetings Saints in His Perfect Peace, We got a couple of truck loads of clothing donated today. Prison Weekly May 1

Aharei Mot and Kedoshim For the week of May 1, 2004 / 10 Iyar 5764 Torah: Vayikra / Leviticus 16:1-20:27 Haftarah: Amos 9:7-15 We Need to Hear God's Promises In that day I will restore David's fallen tent. I will repair its broken places, restore its ruins, and build it as it used to be (Amos 9:11).Again we have before us God's promise to restore the nation of Israel. Like so many of these promises, it is given alongside threats of judgement, "All the sinners among my people will die by the sword" (Amos 9:10). This promise includes spiritual aspects, "In that day I will restore David's fallen tent. I will repair its broken places, restore its ruins, and build it as it used to be" (Amos 9:11), and physical ones, "I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them" (Amos 9:15).This theme of the restoration of Israel occurs over and over again in the Scriptures. Do you find this subject redundant? Do you tire of it? Why do you think it occurs as often as it does?First, Israel needs it. Life as God's chosen nation has been tough. Israel was singled out from among the all nations to prove to the world its need of God. No matter what nation God would have chosen, the result would have been the same. No one can measure up to God's standards.The good news is that even though we had to painfully discover our inadequacies, God promised to come through for us. Though we failed, he has promised to do what it takes so that we would come to know him in the way he intended.Because of the intensity of Israel's struggle, we need to hear his promises over and over again.We also need to hear these promises so much, because there are those who contradict them. Throughout the past two thousand years many have taught that God has given up on Israel. But it does not take too much honest reading of the Bible to know that God thinks otherwise. God's promises to Israel are not some hidden, cryptic messages requiring great scholarship, special revelatory knowledge, or the skills of a detective to find. On the contrary, they are clearly spoken in a wide variety of contexts. To deny God's commitment to the people of Israel is to question the Bible itself. Because of those who would say otherwise, we need to hear his promises over and over again. Finally, God speaks these things to this extent, because we all need to comprehend his character. God is faithful and true. When he enters into covenant, he keeps his part. God's love and commitment to Israel is not dependent upon the nation's performance. It is based on God Himself. When we understand that God is the one who establishes relationship with us, then we can rest in the security of his love. If we think that it is our spirituality that is the glue in our relationship with God, then none of us has a chance. But when we realize that we are his people because of what he has done, then we know that he will see us through till the end. Because of our great need of him, we need to hear his promises over and over again. TorayBytes Do You Need Glasses? "And if you defile the land, it will vomit you out as it vomited out the nations that were before you" (Vayikra / Leviticus18:28). I have worn glasses for most of my life. I remember how wonderful the day was when I got my first pair. I had not been seeing very well for some time. Neither my parents nor my teachers had noticed. Then one day I made a comment to my mother that I couldn't see something properly. Not too long after that, I had glasses. What had seemed normal to me was in reality not normal. I had been missing so much of the world around me. While there are times that I wish I didn't have to wear glasses, I am most of the time very thankful for them. Wearing glasses is not natural. The natural thing for many people is to see the world in a distorted way. Yet the reality is that people with unclear vision are at a disadvantage in life. Corrective lenses are effective in helping those who need them to see the world properly. A most common philosophy in our day teaches that everyone's opinion is of equal value with that of everybody else. The underlying conviction operating here is that there is no absolute truths in the universe. Therefore truth is whatever each person decides for him or herself. Each person's viewpoint becomes their own authority concerning the meaning of life. Obviously we could never effectively apply this to our eyesight. If we did, the world would be a very dangerous place. Automobile licensing bureaus are right to impose the use of glasses upon those who need them. We would never accept someone insisting that they have the right to see the world the way they do, if they are not seeing it according to the way it really is. Some may object at my drawing a parallel between our eyesight and our opinions of life. Yet it doesn't take a philosopher to know that if a society doesn't agree on how to relate to the basic issues of life, we end up with chaos. The fact is, even the people who claim there are no absolute right and wrongs in life, themselves hold to a long list of absolutes. The world is not a random, meaningless interplay between chance particles of energy and matter. It is a complex, yet cohesive, scientifically sound design. Some things work and some things don't. The more we learn how to interact properly with this world and with each other, the better our lives will be. None of us are born with the ability to see the world the way it really is. Whether we admit it or not, most of us spend our lives stumbling and bumbling trying to find our way. Most of us have long lists of injuries that we have either suffered or caused due to our shortsightedness. Since we are shortsighted, we need glasses. Instead of relying on our natural abilities, we need to view life through corrective lenses. That is what the Scriptures are. The regulations of life that we encounter in the Bible are not cold-hearted restrictions, which exist to keep us from having fun. Rather they are insights into how life actually works. The chapters that are part of this week's parsha (weekly Torah reading), list a wide range of relational and behavioral boundaries. Our health and welfare depends on strict adherence to these things. The consequences of ignoring these directives may not seem evident. When we sin, we do not immediately feel bad, hear warning bells or get hit by lightening. In fact many wrong behaviors seem pleasant to us at the time. Unless we put on the glasses of Scripture, we cannot see far enough into the future of our lives to realize where our sin is actually taking us. Do you need glasses? Truah/TorahBytes Family Parsha Acharei Mot-Kedoshim 5764 Leviticus 19-20 Torah Portion: Kedoshim by Nesanel Safran When we're young, we can feel like we don't have much in common with older people, and maybe not much to learn from them either. But in this week's portion, God teaches us that older people deserve our attention - and our respect. They have a lot of life wisdom, and give us a connection to what were in many ways the greater days of the past.In our story, we meet a kid who gets a new perspective on old age. "SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW" I felt both guilty and relieved as I watched my parents begin to pack up our minivan. They were getting ready to visit Grandpa later in the afternoon at the old age home. As usual they wanted me to go along, but this time I told them I wasn't coming with them. My parents were disappointed, and I knew Grandpa would be too, but I just couldn't do it this time. I hated to admit it, but I just found old people so, you know, boring. I like things new and exciting, lots of action. And let's face it - old people are not like that at all. Besides, I had big plans. There was a special hi-tech exhibit at the science museum - talk about new and exciting - and my buddies and I had planned to go check it out. They had the latest computer equipment on display, and there was even supposed to be a robot that could clean a whole room - I could sure use one of those.I got there first and waited for the other guys to show up. After a few minutes, something unusual caught my eye. It seemed like some celebrity or something arrived, because there was this old man being followed around by about a whole bunch of kids who couldn't do enough for him. One kid brought him a drink, another was carrying his coat, someone else brought him a chair, and even brushed it off before he sat down!'He must be really big,' I thought. Maybe he's a famous actor or some billionaire sports team owner. My pals hadn't shown up, so I figured I'd move closer and try to get a piece of the action.As I got closer, I could see that the kids were from the local Torah School. I nudged up to one of them, and whispered, "Who is he?"I guess I didn't speak clearly, because the kid gave me a funny look, and said, "I'm sorry - I don't know what you mean."I explained, "I can see from the way you're all fawning over this old man that he must be someone important, like, you know, a celebrity. So who is he? "The kid nodded his head, and I thought he was trying to cover up a smile. "Well, you're right," he said, "He's someone very important, but not like you think. He's our great grandfather and almost 90 years old." I didn't get it, and I guess the kid could tell because he went on to explain. "You see we learned in our school how important it is to show respect for older people." "Why?" "Well first of all, anyone who has lived so long has seen and done a lot, and picked up a lot of life wisdom along the way. When I hear an older person tell a story about what life was like when he was our age, I feel like I'm getting a living history class. But more than that, we learned that the way God designed the world is that in each generation you go back, people were greater and wiser." "But we have so many new things today that they didn't," I objected. "Maybe they didn't have all the high-tech we do," he said, pointing toward the exhibit, "but they didn't need it - their brains were already high-tech. So when we get a chance to be with an elderly person, we do all we can to show him respect, and learn from him. Get it?" Meanwhile the old man had started to get up from his rest and move on, so the kid apologized to me, and jumped up to follow him. I thought about what he said. I had never looked at it that way, but I had to admit, the kid made sense. Maybe old people did deserve more respect than they get. I watched the 'great grandfather' make his way down the aisle, surrounded by his admirers, and thought about my own lonely Grandpa, and how I wasn't even making him important enough in my life to pay an occasional visit. "Hey Jay, where have you been hiding?" called out one of my buddies from across the museum lobby. "C'mon, let's go and check out all the great new stuff." "Sorry," I said. "Something's come up and I have to catch my parents before they leave. I've gotta go with them to see someone who may not be new - but is definitely great." Aish.com Mission Updates:Greetings Saints in His Perfect Peace, First I wish you all a good Sabbath may you gain much rest in our Lord Yeshua Messiah. I pray you all are catching the weekly radio program. the programs get better each week as I get more comfortable with speaking on the air instead of preaching in front of a group. I will be speaking of a strange case of Demonic possession of a 12 year old child. Many watched this battle that was done with this demon before I cast him out. Had this child been left alone when I stepped in, he was fighting Satan telling him to murder his parents. I say he through grown men around like nothing until I placed invisible chains on him pining him to the floor. Much more to this gruesome story. You will here it live on the net and radio this week at 6 PM central. In the next coming weeks I am going to explore the so called UFO's. There will be 4 programs you will not want to miss. I will hold back what I have to say about them till the last program. But remember it says that 1 John 4:1 1Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. As we go through this remember I first gave you this scripture. Saints we need your prayers at this time. We need your support. I pray those that normally donate will do so now as now is when we need it. Please take this to prayer....We need for tomorrow. Newsletter is coming due as also is the mission bills are now coming due also. And do I have to even say I need gas. This Mission counts on the donations that the Lord puts on your hearts and the hearts of those on our mail out newsletter. The FATHER bless thee and keep thee; The FATHER make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee; The FATHER lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee shalom. (peace) Bemidbar (Numbers) 6:24-26 In Yeshua's Name, Bro. Dan, Pastor of Messiah's Branch Shalom In Yeshua Our Messiah, Friday was a special day as we had a memorial dinner in honor of our best friend that past last year on this date. Kathy made I believe she said five and a half dozen egg -n-cheese sandwiches. We didn't have donuts but was able to pass out sweets Pastor Dan picked up from the Friend of man Ministry. We had a few clothes come in on Tuesday but most were gone by Friday. We had an addition to the staff at the Mission we now have a clothes and cleaning ministress. AMEN Our friend has been released from the hospital and our clothing ministress is also taking extra special care of him. She cleaned his house with Kathy's help then went through his cabinets and took out all the sodium products. She then went shopping for him and said it took her two hours to get sixty dollars worth of groceries (reading labels).We served beef sausages,macaroni-n-cheese,baked beans and chocolate Birthday cake for the clothing ministress it was all very good.At service we had a young man who was very much in the world and in trouble with the law come to the LORD. He repented of his past and ask Yeshua to send the Holy Spirit into his heart. We have been praying with his mother for his salvation for months.All she could do was cry in happiness repeating over and over this is my miracle. After we prayed on him an Pastor Dan went through the sinners prayer we finished up service and off to the river they went in the rain to baptize him.The small children and three of us ladies stayed back at the Mission as it was 1:30 am and raining. PRAISE YAHWEH He is SO GOOD please hold this young man up that he continue on this path and get his family back together. He has two small daughters one 10 months old and the other three years while his wife expecting a boy in five months.The newsletter is due to go out again and we need the funds for printing 190.00 and postage 111.00. The Mission electric is 105 something due on the 5th. We need postage for the weekly prison portions and gas for the mission trips. Pray about supporting and helping in these wonderful works of Messiah. More next update Blessings and Shalom Last Weeks Answers:What beast did Yahweh say could be eaten ? A. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him. He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope. He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach. For the Lord will not cast off for ever: But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
